GATA5 は胚発生中に、心臓、肺、泌尿生殖器隆腺 (urogenital ridge)、腸上皮 (epithelium of the gut) で検出される。成体では、消化管 (gastrointestinal tract)、膀胱 (bladder)、肺、心内膜(endocardium) に見られるが、心筋では見られない。
